Talking about sex, consent and prevention of harm can be difficult.
This interactive and relaxed session supports you to have these tricky conversations with a disability lens.
You will learn about:
- consent and the law
- image-based abuse
- online exploitation
- prevalence and impacts of sexual abuse
- how to recognise and respond to a disclosure of sexual abuse
- the child and youth safe organisations framework
- sexual harassment
- new laws, and lots more.
We will also introduce you to how you can use our unique conversation cards to assist with your conversations.
These cards were co-developed by Laurel House and a Steering Committee with funding from the Department of Social Services.
This event is presented free of charge as part of Laurel House's SAAM (Sexual Assault Awareness Month) activities.
Tea, coffee and morning tea will be provided.
